Louisa Haban

Art
she/her

Louisa’s practice stems from a fondness for the fantastical, often blending nature and magic realism against female empowerment and spiritual concepts.

Her work celebrates the female form whilst drawing from medieval and folkloric imagery to fabricate worlds that meditate upon higher powers, alternate dimensions and female-led civilisations that seek to question the societies we live in.

Visuals are borrowed and repurposed from ancient mythology, astrology and classical art, whilst others are drawn from her psyche through dreams, thoughts and meditations. Louisa explores ideas of what is ‘unseen’, in order to realign and inspire both herself and her viewers through nature, mythology, the universe and most importantly ourselves.
